Advent Calendar 2025 - Velvet&Lace (roving)

Attention! This is a package containing spinning fibre from the Advent Calendar 2025.
With this package you will receive a matching project bag or drawstring pouch with print, as well as the pattern for the Dual Drift Advent Shawl.

Spinning Fiber, Polwarth or Merino Nylon Sock Blend:

Each calendar contains 24 carefully selected and hand-dyed pieces of combed top, approximately 25 grams each, individually packaged to keep the surprise until the moment of unveiling. Additionally, you will receive the pattern for a shawl we designed for our Advent calendars featuring mini skeins. Since the 24 colors of combed top can be spun into a yarn of similar thickness to the mini skeins, you can also use them to knit the pattern.

The main difference between these two fiber types is their composition. As the name suggests, the Merino Nylon Sock Blend consists of 70% (non-mulesed) merino and 30% nylon. This blend is ideal if you love spinning with super-soft merino but want added durability, making it perfect for knitting or crocheting socks with your hand-spun yarn. Please note that this fiber is not suitable for felting.

The 100% Polwarth is wonderfully soft (22/23 microns) and has a staple length of approximately 8 cm. It is suitable for spinning, felting, knitting, and weaving—an excellent all-rounder!
