Do you dye regularly or want to dye several skeins in the same colour? This large jar of Jacquard Acid Dye contains 226 grams of concentrated dye powder. A practical choice for keeping your favourite colours well stocked.
This dye is suitable for wool, silk and other animal fibres, including alpaca, mohair and cashmere. Nylon also takes up the colour, making it suitable for wool sock yarns containing nylon. Use a single colour for a solid or gently shaded skein, or mix colours to create your own shades.
As a guideline, average usage is approximately 1 gram of dye per 100 grams of undyed wool. Some deep, intense colours require more dye, while soft pastels need much less. The final colour also depends on the yarn and your method. Make a small test first and record your quantities.
Use Jacquard Acid Dye in a hot dye bath with citric acid or vinegar. We prefer citric acid and also work with these dyes in our workshops.
