This is a strong, high twist yarn with Donegal neps. These neps remain clearly visible as they do not absorb the dye while the rest of the yarn is being dyed. This beautiful rustic yarn has a warm undertone due to the neps being blended into the yarn. We used a 2.75 mm needle for a flat swatch, but if you want to knit socks with this yarn, a 2.25 mm needle would create a firmer fabric. The Bluefaced Leicester is stronger than many other wool types, making it also suitable for knitting socks.
85% Bluefaced Leicester (superwash)/15% Donegal neps

Hand-dyed yarns are unique and can differ, even if they come from the same dye bath. We therefore always recommend alternated knitting for larger areas. The yarns are dyed in small quantities so it is advisable to order sufficient yarn immediately.
We take great care in photographing our yarns but colours may vary slightly from monitor to monitor.
